Medicare Part B, also known as Medicare medical insurance, helps pay for outpatient health care expenses.

You can sign up for Medicare Part B by selecting "yes" to answer the question "Do you want to enroll in Medicare Part B?"

If you sign up for Medicare Part B, you will be required to pay a monthly premium. Medicare will send you a bill for your Part B premium every three months. The bill will include an address where you should send the payments. You will also have the option of automatically paying the bill from an account at your bank or financial institution.

Note: When you start receiving benefits, we will automatically deduct the Medicare Part B premium from your monthly payments.

If you do not choose to enroll in Medicare Part B now and then decide to do so later, your coverage may be delayed and you may have to pay a higher monthly premium unless you qualify for a "Special Enrollment Period."

If you want to know more about enrollment periods for Part B, please read the information about general and special enrollment periods in the "Signing up for Medicare" section of our "Medicare" booklet or talk to your personnel office before you answer this question.
