Background

The original Appeals Council Text Guide issued in 1986 contained charts at 6-90-40 and 6-90-50 which described the disposition of various correspondence and/or evidence received by the Appeals Council. When the Text Guide was converted to an electronic format and uploaded to Policy Net, these charts were not included. We have decided to combine, update and place these charts in the Post-Adjudicative Action chapter of HALLEX at I-3-9-40 (Post-AC Action Correspondence).

Explanation of Content and Changes

This transmittal adds a new chart to I-3-9-40. The chart contains information on disposition of correspondence and/or evidence received (or considered) after the Appeals Council (AC) denies a request for review, issues a decision, or reviews a case on its own motion.
