Downloading and Installing RealPlayer

To participate with the OESP Panel Webcasts, you will need to have the RealPlayer plug-in installed on your computer. The following instructions will help you download and install the RealPlayer. Be sure to allow at least two hours before the event start time to ensure you have enough time to download, install, and configure the RealPlayer software.

1. Print out this page and follow the instructions as you continue.

2. Bookmark this page so you may return to it after you install the RealPlayer software.

3. Navigate to
   http://www.real.com/products/player/index.html to access the RealPlayer download page.

4. There are two versions of the player available for download. You will only need the free version of the software to access the Webcasts on OESP's Panel Web site. Click on the link to download the software.

5. Enter your name and e-mail address.

6. You will be prompted to enter some questions about your computer. Enter the appropriate information.

7. Click on the "Download Free RealPlayer 8 Basic" button.

8. You will come to a page where you can choose which RealPlayer and add-ons you wish to download.
   
   The minimal download is sufficient, however, you may download the additional features if you wish.

9. You will come to a page where you can choose your download site. Choose the site that is closest to you.

10. After you choose a location, you will be asked where you want to save the installation software. Choose c:/windows/desktop and click "Save."
    The download will take a few minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

11. Once the download is complete, close your browser.

12. Find the file you have downloaded on your desktop, and double-click on it. This will begin the installation process.

13. You will be asked a series of questions as RealPlayer is installed. Answer all of the questions and then choose "Finish" to install the software.

14. The installation will take a short time. When it has finished, you will see a screen that says your software was successfully installed. Click on "OK" to continue.

15. A registration screen will appear. If you are still connected to the Internet, fill out the form and click "Send." If not, click on "Remind me later." If you click on "Remind me later", you will need to register the software in the future.

16. After registration, the RealPlayer will play a short file with sound and video.

17. If this test file works correctly, you are ready to view the Webcasts on the OESP Web site.

18. Return to the OESP Panel Webcasting page, and select "Webcasting library" from the list.
