Representative Payees: Roles and Responsibilities of Payees Who Serve Multiple Beneficiaries

Representative payees help beneficiaries manage their benefits to ensure that basic current and foreseeable needs are met. There are two types of representative payees: some are individuals, such as family or friends of the beneficiary; and others are organizations that are capable of assisting beneficiaries, such as non-profit agencies, private institutions, nursing homes, or government agencies. This webcast will discuss the roles and responsibilities of organizational payees and will be particularly helpful for payees who serve a large number of beneficiaries.
