In the next five years, over 40% of the Social Security Administration (SSA) management staff in our Region will be eligible for retirement.  SSA has over 1300 offices nationwide with numerous staff/management positions.  The San Francisco Region alone has over 180 offices.  We have a total of two PMF slots to fill using these two positions:

• Management Analyst
  Would you like some flexibility in your target position? The Management Analyst position is located in our Regional Office in Richmond, CA (about 8.6 miles northwest of Berkeley, 12.7 miles west of Oakland, and 18 miles northeast of San Francisco). The target Management Analyst GS-12 position could be in any number of areas in our Regional Office, including financial management, physical and information security, human resources, labor/employee relations, training, public affairs, facilities management, computer systems, management information, and SSA Programs. Your mentor and manager will help you select your rotational assignments and target position in the San Francisco Regional Office based upon your skills and interests, as well as the organization's needs.

• Management Support Specialist
  Are you interested in working in Arizona, California, or Nevada? Do you want some flexibility in the location of your target position? The Social Security Administration (SSA) in the San Francisco Region might be a good fit for you. We have Management Support Specialist (MSS) positions available for PMFs. The MSS is a member of the management team, providing administrative, systems, workload, and employee support. The target GS-12 position could be in one of our District Offices or Teleservice Centers located in California, Arizona, Nevada, or in the Western Program Service Center located in Richmond, CA. Your mentor and your manager will help you select your target position in the San Francisco Region based upon your skills, interests, and mobility, as well as the organization's needs.
