| African American Heritage
Festival in Baltimore, MD
July 6 - 8, 2007

The Social Security Administration (SSA) participated in the African
American Heritage Festival at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. The
festival was a huge success and was attended by over 200,000 people.
Many festival attendees visited the SSA Booth for information about SSA
benefit programs and received SSA message products to remind
them to apply online.
Stephanie Lonesome, the Area Work Incentive Coordinator for the
Baltimore area, spoke about the Ticket
to Work Program to beneficiaries receiving disability
benefits. Jeanette Watkins, SSA’s Public Affairs Specialist
for Baltimore, along with Claims Representatives from the SSA Baltimore
Downtown Office, Danielle Lawrence, Tommy McGinnis, Georgia Goodridge,
and Denise Briscoe promoted the numerous services
available at SSA
Online to everyone that stopped by. Volunteers from the Black
Affairs Advisory Council assisted Linda Evans, Service Representative
from the Downtown Office, and Sarah Talley, a Public Affairs Specialist
from the Office of Communication at SSA Headquarters, to distribute
publications and answer questions from visitors at the SSA exhibit.
