On September 15, 2010, the House passed by voice vote H.R. 5773, a bill that would designate the Federal building located at 6401 Security Boulevard in Baltimore, MD— commonly known as the Social Security Administration Operations Building— as the “Robert M. Ball Federal Building.”  The bill would be effective upon enactment.

The bill was introduced by Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD) on July 19, 2010.  It was reported favorably with amendments by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (see Legislative Bulletin 111-48).  The bill awaits action in the Senate.
