Such certifications shall be made at such times and such manner as the Sec. DHS, may prescribe by regulation. Section 202 (b) States shall include, at a minimum, the following information and features on each driver's license and identification card issued to a person by the State:
Section 202 (c) to meet the requirements of this section, a State shall require, at a minimum, presentation and verification of the following information before issuing a driver's license or identification card to a person:
Section 202 (c)(2)(B) States shall, before issuing a driver's license or identification card to a person, validate documentary evidence that the person has lawful immigration status. Section 202 (c)(2)(C) a temporary driver's license or identification card shall be valid only during the period of time of the applicant's authorized stay, a period of one year and must be clearly shown on the driver's license or identification card. Section 202 (d) (11) in any case in which the State issues a driver's license or identification card that does not satisfy the requirements of this section, ensure that such license or identification card clearly states on its face that it may not be accepted by any Federal agency for federal identification or any other purpose and uses a unique design or color indicator to alert the Federal agencies and other law enforcement personnel that it may not be accepted for any such purpose. Section 206 repeals section 7212 of PL 108-458, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. Section 7212 required the DOT, in consultation with the States and DHS, to promulgate regulations establishing minimum standards for driver's licenses or personal identification cards issued by States.
