Getting Started

Exchanging electronic health records with Social Security is a complex undertaking that requires commitments of time, energy, and resources. While your organization will incur project costs, we have developed a tool that can help your organization analyze the costs against benefits you may realize as a result of this project. From a technical perspective, we have a lot of experience with the process and are ready to talk with you about what you will need. Before you get in touch, it can be helpful to review a few things.

Your Systems

Your organization should be pursuing a strategy to exchange electronic health records. It also helps if your organization sees a new technology as a key to achieving its mission, we have found that organizations with a very high level of HIMSS EMR Adoption (usually at least a 6 on the 7-point scale) will be able to complete the process successfully. These systems maintain full physician documentation with structured templates and discrete data

Your People

Part of the partnership process involves working closely with Social Security’s dedicated teams of technical experts. Your team should have the “bandwidth” to tackle the project. It’s important to involve them at an early stage, and we’ll certainly enjoy talking with them when we setup an initial meeting.

Next Steps

If you are ready to take the next steps we'd love to hear from you.
