TY2008 EFW2 & EFW2C

The 2008 Specifications for Filing Forms W-2 and W-2C Electronically (2008 EFW2 and EFW2C) are now available at Social Security’s employer website. Go to www.socialsecurity.gov/employer/pub.htm to view or download a copy.


 
 

W-2C Online

You can prepare and file Forms W-2Cs (and Forms W-3C) electronically by visiting Social Security’s Employer Reporting Instructions and Information web site at www.socialsecurity.gov/employer. Select “Electronically File Your W-2s” and log into “Business Services Online” (BSO). The BSO “Create Forms W-2c Online” option allows you to create “fill-in” versions of Forms W-2C and W-3C for filing with Social Security. It also allows you to print copies for your employees and for filing with state or local governments, or for maintaining your records. This service is free!

IRS Launches Campaign to Help New Small Businesses

Coinciding with the Small Business Administration’s Small Business Week, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that it has launched a year-long campaign to educate new self-employed small business owners about their federal tax responsibilities in IR-2008-063 and about filing the Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business.

SSA/IRS Reporter

The SSA/IRS Reporter is a newsletter issued by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). It publishes articles about employment and business tax compliance. The SSA/IRS Reporter also carries general information about best payroll and employment tax practices as well as SSA and IRS products and services.
