Installation Guide

Note: These instructions describe the installation steps. Dialog boxes may vary with different browsers and operating systems. If you have trouble downloading the software, refer to our Troubleshooting page.

To download the AccuWage/AccuW2C Visual Basic Software, you must first download the AccuWage or AccuW2C Visual Basic self-installing compressed file:

1. On the AccuWage page select one of the download links.
2. A Microsoft File Download dialog box opens. Select "Save".
3. Choose a directory and select "Save". Do not change the default file name.
4. On the Download complete dialog box, select "Run" (skip to step 6)
5. If you did not select "Run", locate and open the file on your PC:
   • accu11.exe to install AccuWage Visual Basic 2011
   • aw2c11.exe to install AccuW2C Visual Basic 2011
6. The installation welcome screen opens. Select the "Next" button.
7. The "Destination Location" screen opens. Use the default folder or select "Browse..." to specify a different destination folder to store the software. Select the "Next" button.
8. The "Backup Replaced Files" screen opens. This screen provides the option to save a copy of any files that are replaced during installation (so that they can be restored when AccuWage is uninstalled):
   a.) Choose "Yes" to make a backup of the existing files (recommended). Use the default Backup File folder or select "Browse" to specify a different folder. Select the "Next" button; or
   b.) Choose "No" to write over all existing files without saving copies. Select the "Next" button.
9. The "Start Installation" screen opens. Select the "Next" button.
10. The "Installing" screen appears while the software is being loaded. When installation is complete, an "Installation Complete" screen opens. Select "Finish".
11. An AccuWage or AccuW2C icon is created on the Desktop and on the Start Menu in the Programs section.

To download the AccuWage/AccuW2C 2011 Java Software:

1. On the AccuWage page select, "Download AccuWage/AccuW2C Java - 2011 Tax Year"
2. You will see a Java screen and then the, "downloading application" screen.
3. The software will open automatically. The installation creates an AccuWage or AccuW2C 2011 Java icon on the Desktop and on the Start Menu in the Programs section.

To uninstall the AccuWage or AccuW2C Visual Basic software, use one of the following options:

1. From the Start menu, go to Programs and then to AccuWage or AccuW2C. Select "Uninstall AccuWage" or "Uninstall AccuW2C". A "Select Uninstall Method" dialog box opens. Select "Next" and follow the directions given; or,
   
2. From the Start menu, go to Settings and/or Control Panel. Select "Programs-Uninstall a program", Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features. When the Uninstall/Change or Add/Remove Properties box opens, select "AccuWage" or "AccuW2C" and then select the "Change/Remove or Uninstall" button and follow the directions given.

To uninstall the AccuWage/AccuW2C Java software, use one of the following options:

1. From the Start menu, go to Programs and then to AccuWage or AccuW2C. Select "Uninstall AccuWage/AccuW2C" and follow the directions given; or,
   
2. From the Start menu, go to Settings and/or Control Panel. Select "Programs-Uninstall a program", "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features". When the Uninstall/Change or Add/Remove Programs Properties box opens, select "AccuWage" or "AccuW2C" and then select the "Change/Remove or Uninstall" button and follow the directions given.

AccuWage and AccuW2C both include a help file within the software, and is accessible from the start menu.

Assistive technologies users who access the Java application using Microsoft Windows may need to download and install the Java Access Bridge. The Java Access Bridge enables assistive technologies, such as the JAWS screen reader, to read Java applications running on the Windows platform. The Java Access Bridge is available from Oracle’s web site here. Oracle also provides Java Access Bridge installation instructions. If you have problems with the Java Access Bridge installation or operation please contact your assistive technology vendor’s customer support center and/or Oracle.
