 New Publications on Benefit Offset Pilot Demonstration

We have posted citations to articles on the Benefit Offset Pilot Demonstration . The first, in the Journal of Rehabilitation, is titled “ Effects on beneficiary employment and earnings of a graduated $1-for-$2 benefit offset for Social Security Disability Insurance .” It includes results from the Vermont project. The second, in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, is titled “ The impact of changing financial work incentives on the earnings of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries .” It describes the impact of the benefit offset on the earnings of SSDI beneficiaries and the benefits paid to them. The third will be in the Journal of Disability Policy Studies and is titled “ Supporting Work Effort of SSDI Beneficiaries: Implementation of Benefit Offset Pilot Demonstration .” It includes findings from our benefit offset pilot in Utah.

Benefit Offset National Demonstration Begins

The Benefit Offset National Demonstration (BOND) began field operations on January 31, 2011, with the mailing of recruitment letters to the first group of potential BOND pilot participants. The BOND pilot tests participant recruitment and data collection protocols. We will begin full BOND implementation in April 2011. You can get more information on BOND on the new project website at www.bondssa.org.
