The Federal Career Intern Program (FCIP) will be used to facilitate the employment of exceptional individuals with diverse professional experiences, academic training and competencies and prepare them for careers which support our mission of public service.

Hires may be made at grades GS-5 through GS-9 into appropriate career ladder positions. Candidates must meet the qualification requirements for the position and grade level being filled. Those selected for FCIP initially serve under 2-year excepted service appointments. Upon successful completion of 2-year training programs, they may be non-competitively converted to career/career-conditional appointments.
